Adding Books
Search & Sort
When the books are displayed in Detailed View, you can sort by clicking on the columns headers to for ascending/descending sort by the selected column.
Under Tile View, you can sort by choosing the field from the toolbar, and then clicking the adjacent arrow. Any click on the arrow will change the sort order to ascending or descending.
Searching books by any part of the title, author or publisher is done by tyeing in the search box. The library view will imminently reflect all books matching the text in any of the book's info fields. Minimum 2 letter for searching.
Directory Monitor
The directory monitor scans all the listed directories for the specified file types.
The scanning is performed when the application loads, and continues as long as it's running. So files added when eLibrary wasn't running will still be added.
Access the directory monitor settings via Main->Settings->Directory Monitor or Library->Monitor Folders.
- Add/Remove directories and file types to be scanned.
- File types must have the preceding dot before the extension.
Files Renaming
This feature allow you to rename all your books' files.
Access the renaming settings via Library->Rename Files, or Main->Settings->Library Tab.
Check/Uncheck Rename books' files to enable/disable the automatic book renaming. If checked, all the newly added files will automatically renamed according to the chosen convention.
After choosing the naming convention (See below) you can apply the convention to existing files in the library by pressing Apply to existing files.
Naming Convention
Choose the desired naming convention from the drop down list.
Each convention is a list of words separated with the delimiter chosen from the Words delimiter drop down list.
Words meaning:
- Title - The books title.
- Author - The authors list.
- Publisher - The books publisher.
- Num - Automatically generated sequence starting at 1. Useful some books has more then a single file.
- ISBN - The book's ISBN.
Export Files
The export books files, select some books from the main screen and choose Library->Export Files.
Step 1
When the Export Books form loads you can add more books to be exported by dragging books from the main screen and dropping them on the book list. Remove books from the export list by selecting and clicking Remove Selected.
Press Next.
Step 2
To rename the exported books' files check the apporpriate checkbox and choose the naming convention (See Help:Library#Naming_Convention).
Press Next.
Step 3
Click Browse and choose the destination folder.
Press Next.
Step 4
Press Next again to start exporting. When the Finish button becomes enabled again, the exported has finished.
Import Library
This feature exists mainly for debugging issues, so I can make tests without destroying my existing books db

Books
Books import is done by copying complete records of books from an eLibrary database.
The import copies the books cover images, and data, but NOT the files. The original paths aren't modified.
You can access it via Library->Import Library->Books.
Select the database file (usually books.db) to import from. Pressing OK will immediately start the import process.
